From the year 2018, Chasing Cancellara will be named after the first stage of the RiderMan in Bad Dürrheim in the Black Forest. The 16 kilometer individual time trial on Friday, 21st of September 2018 will be part of the international racing series of the reigning Olympic champion in the individual time trial for the first time.

The start of the RiderMan is now the individual time trial “Chasing Cancellara” – as in the previous year, unchanged over 16 kilometers with 200 meters spiked kilometers on wavy terrain. The second stage of the three day stage race takes participants through a hilly and varied route (110.0 kilometers, 1.700 meters altitude difference). Finally, on Sunday, it will be over 87.0 kilometers (1,150 vertical meters) across the varied terrain of the Baar with a step into the beautiful Wutachschlucht.

Fabian Cancellara, two-time Olympic champion and four-time World Champion: “I am very happy to bring my racing series to Germany for the first time. Thanks to the format with a 16 kilometer time trial – almost my favorite discipline – this prelude is perfect. »Rik Sauser, organizer of the Riderman:« We are very happy to be part of the first stage of the Riderman in the international racing series of Fabian Cancellara, to welcome one of the biggest names in international cycling in the Black Forest. The RiderMan is one of the big goals in the calendar of German amateur athletes for years, as well as many Swiss participants who benefit from a short journey close to the Swiss border».

The RiderMan is divided into a global series with races at the Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi (UAE), in Andermatt (CH), Villars (CH), Kopenhangen (DK), Silkeborg (DK), Tuscany (IT) and Lugano. The traditional RiderMan mode will not change with the integration into Chasing Cancellara: The organizers remain true to their proven and successful concept, the three day stage race with daily and overall standings. An individual race start only on Friday and Sunday is also possible. As in previous years, the result of the overall ranking once again entered the rating of the “German Cycling Cup”, Germany’s largest racing series for amateur riders.

Registration for the stage race or Chasing Cancellara is available right here.
